MS/HS Art
The Visual Arts program at Winona ISD offers middle and high school students a dynamic and inspiring environment to explore their creativity, build artistic skills, and express themselves through a wide variety of mediums.
Students work on meaningful art projects throughout the year, many of which are shared with the community through displays and partnerships in Winona and Tyler. From painting to drawing and other media, the program encourages experimentation and personal growth in visual expression.
Highlights of the Winona Art program include:
Community Art Projects – Students create works that are shared publicly, connecting art with local culture and community engagement.
Art Competitions – Individual students have the opportunity to showcase their work in regional and state-level contests, gaining recognition for their creativity and skill.
Gallery Exhibits – Selected student artwork is displayed in local galleries and public showcases, offering real-world exposure and celebration of student talent.
Educational Field Trips – Visits to art museums, galleries, and studios help students deepen their appreciation for the arts and expand their understanding of visual culture.
Through hands-on experiences, critique, and exploration, the Visual Arts program at Winona empowers students to develop not only as artists but also as creative thinkers and problem-solvers. Every student has a voice—and a vision worth sharing.
