Winona ISD is excited to welcome Mr. Demonterius Dorsey as the new Principal of Winona Elementary School! He brings nearly a decade of experience as both a teacher and administrator in Dallas ISD. During his time there, Mr. Dorsey led with a relentless commitment to equity, instructional excellence, and student success—playing a key role in driving school improvement initiatives.
He brings deep expertise in campus leadership, teacher coaching, data-driven instruction, and
systems building. Mr. Dorsey holds a Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M-Commerce, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Dorsey is passionate about academic excellence, building a strong school culture, and fostering meaningful family and community partnerships. He firmly believes that “education requires a collective effort: the teacher, the student, the parents, and the community.” With this belief at the heart of his leadership, he is committed to ensuring every child at Winona Elementary thrives.
